Today is voting day, and the town must vote on what to do with a big empty space: build a clock tower or a play area. The catch is - women aren't yet allowed to vote. So, Susan then brings our time travellers to the voting station where she proclaims "everyone should have a vote!" which inspires Brad to confront his own problems with Xavier and Yadina.
