Sometimes people who are in a storm or earthquake need a temporary place to stay. Design an emergency shelter that will keep them safe, using inexpensive or recycled or reusable materials.

You van easily make a shelter using a trashbag, a dead tree, and a spool of thread or twine. Simply the the trashbag firmly the the tree and stay under your plastic shelter. It helps to have bushes to either side of the open sides of the shelter.

We like that this shelter uses simple materials. What else could you use, if a trash bag is not handy?


This hut is made of sturdy triangles made of pipe and then covered with canvas. sort of like an indian tepee or spherical play structure, but it folds in itself to make it easier to carry and put away. It has pockets for food storage, and water.
