Ana and her husband are designers who live in Alaska, and they are experts in making things from wood. Together, they have built projects as small as a chair and as large as a whole cabin! One of their other projects is an apartment that is the size of a garage. Many people call these structures "tiny houses." To fit a whole house in such a small space, designers have to be very creative! To save room, Ana had an idea for a bed that could move. She used the parts of for a garage door to put the bed on a vertical track. With the push of a button, the bed rises up to the ceiling (when it's not in use) and lowers to the ground (when it's time to sleep). During the day, when the bed is raised, people can hang out at the tables and couches underneath.
This bed is just one idea that Ana had to save space. There are so many other cool features in her tiny house! Click the image below to see a tour of Ana's tiny house!
