Don't like watery ketchup on your food? Two high school students from Missouri built a ketchup cap that solves the problem!
The students, Tyler Richards and Jonathan Thompson, spent their senior year working on a solution. They came up with over 50 different designs and then built prototypes of their best ideas.
Their final ketchup cap design is called "The Mushroom" because of its shape. The students created it using special computer software and a 3D printer. When the ketchup bottle is squeezed, pressure pushes the ketchup up and around the dome of the cap, while the water gets stuck inside the dome. Perfect ketchup!
