The phantom toll Booth is a riveting and amazing book. It is't very long, but it is an incredibly hard book to sum up. I know, because I had to do a report on it and let me tell you, if you leave even one part out, it messes up the whole summary!

I loved The Phantom Tollbooth. My Mom and I were walking thru the bookstore and she found it. I read it. It was a bout a boy who comes home from school and finds a toll booth in his room. He also gets his own car and meets lots of funny people and animals along the way. It would be a great book for school because it has lots of math and vocabulary and spelling in it!!!

"The Phantom Tollbooth," is such a great book. Most kids can relate to the boy in the story because everyone feel left out and bored most of the time. It also teaches an important lesson, it teaches us kids to have and imaganation! If you don't have one, and you haven't read this book, your missing out of the whole story of a real kids life.
- Emily, age 12 of Poughkeepsie, NY
The Phantom Tollboth is my must favorite book of all times. Its funny and quizzical. In the book a boy runs away in his red car to a far away land. He meets very funny characters. He also gets sent to jail. I like this book because its a larger than life book. It's the kind of book that you want to keep turning the pages and never put it down until its finished.
- Jessie, age 9 of Oklahoma City, OK

The phantom tollbooth is a really great book. The adventures and charcters you encounter throughout this book are unlike anyother. The very discriptive words help you imagine like you're really inside the book! Its Great and I loved it when I got a chance to read it. I'm sure you will too.
- Anne, age 12 of Manhattan, KS
I love the Phantom Toolbooth! It's a really funny book. I think Tock is sooo cool. The book plays on words a lot and it's also very witty. Milo realizes that it's important to read and imagine. I give it 5 toes!
- Tonya, age 14 of Alex City, AL
The Phantom Tollbooth is great, it totally drives your imagination wild. There is only one thing I don't like about it: the math problem that is supposed to be 0 is not. Just Kidding I still love the book.
- Emma, age 10 of Elmira, OR

- Joseph, age 12 of Midvale, UT
I love the Phantom Tollbooth. I emensly enjoy the way everything is taken so literally, like "time flies", or "its as easy as falling off a log." I especaly like the Short Shrift, the Humbug, Milo, Tock, and the whole rest of the gang. Remember, don't jump to conclusions!
- Emily, age 10 of Lake Oswego, OR
It was an okay book, but it gets a bit unrealistic at some parts. I liked it when Milo and Tock are visiting Mathemagician. It is very entertaining, and is a very good book to read on a rainy day when you have nothing else to do.
- Brittany, age 11 of Plainfield, IL
This book ROCKS!!! It's not your every day kind of book. It's about this boy who travels all over the place in a place that seems imaginary because it's really strange. NOW, NOTHING WILL BE BORING FOR HIM EVER AGAIN AND HE'S GONNA MAKE THE MOST OF LIFE!

The Phantom Tollbooth was a great book. It was about a boy, Milo, who didn't know whay to do with himself. Then one day, he finds a package for him that says "For Milo, Who has plenty of time." He opens the package and founds that it is a tollbooth. He plays the game since he has nothing else to do. He founds himself in a lot of exciting adventures.
- Alyssa, age 10 of Jenks, OK
Love it I loved the Phantom Tollboth it was a fun book to read. It was funny because it had all kinds of creatures in it. I liked one part the most when they went to the stoor. The stoor was like no other store, it was a word store. You could by words.

I really liked the Phantom Tollbooth. In 6th grade, we read the book and then did a play. It was so much fun! We stayed after school to create props and different settings, and then read lines in school. I like the Phantom Tollbooth because it is such a different story, and has so many unique characters. Thanks for listening to my review!
- Hannah, age 11 of NC
I think the Phantom Tollbooth deserves 5 toes!!! It was a great book and fun to read. It's short enough for the average chapter-book-reader, and makes you think. I agree about it giving you things to think about that you never would have thought about before. This book is also a little creepy at some parts, like A Wrinkle in Time and Harry Potter 5.
- Kate, age 11 of Canton, NY

- Christina, age 12 of St. Paul, MN
I love this book. The reason I like it is because it doesn't get you bored. When you're bored you could read this book. It's about a boy that doesn't look around and find everything not intersting. One day he finds this box in his room. He sets it up and it turns out to be a tollbooth. When he goes through the tollbooth he's in a different place. He meets all kinds of different things and people. Plus he goes visit lots of weird places. He goes to a place where it's all about words and another where it's all about numbers. Plus a place where a guy creates colors and make the sun comes up or set. I'm not going to tell you the end. See if he gets home or not and if he is going to see things in a different way.

Michelle, age 10 of Chicago, IL
- Milo is a bored kid who doesn't like anything in his life. When he receives the mysterious package to get into the kingdom of knowledge his life changes. He learns not to take things for granted like time, numbers, words, and his life. I thought this book taught a wonderful lesson about why education is important. It also makes a statement about how beautiful sights and sounds can be. This book is at the reading level of a 10-11 year old, but anyone can learn to enjoy it. I would give this book the newberry medel if I could decide that.

- This is my favorite book ever! It was really scary, but I LOVE scary stories! Especially the ones that keep me up at night for weeks because I'm too afraid to go to sleep. This was one of those terrifying ones. I don't think I've gotten a full nights sleep since I read it! I reccomend this book to everyone, unless your too afraid! Actually, you should be ok. Just make sure you have a night light handy.
