ok no offense to the peeps who liked this book but it is awful! I started reading it in class but got another book cuz it was soooooo boring!
- Jasmine, age 11 of Warsaw, IN
I love this story because it shows how one overly protected girl is sent to a certain school and is trans formed into princess material. When the girls from the academy turn on her, it only makes her study harder. I give this story 5 toes!!! I would give this book to anybody who is in for: 1. Romance 2. Action 3. Suprise
- Alana, age 12 of OH
I think princess academy was..... well... kind of odd. I mean, Who would go to an academy where you have to lean to be a princess? I prefer real school a lot better.
- Stania, age 10 of Cleveland, OH
i like it.
- Beka, age 12 of Joplin, MO
'Don't even open this book'. it was sooo boring. I could barly even do that. a billion under 0 toes.
- Ashley, age 11 of Seal Beach, CA

- Maria, age 13 of Alexandria, VA
I remember really enjoying this when I read it about 2 years ago. I'm actually thinking of re-reading it now, because it was a story I thoroughly enjoyed. It has a great message and keeps you reading! I highly recommend this book.
- Hazel, age 9 of Coquitlam, BC
great! I love fairy tales especially ones with princesses!
- Casey, age 12 of Apple, MS
Dont read it it is so boring... read Twilight!!!
- Katie, age 12 of Hudson, WI
I love the names of the characters! They are so unique! Also, the songs before each chapter are really neat! Another book be the same author (that's as awesome as Princess Academy) is Book of a Thousand Days.
- Izzy, age 12 of ME
Princess Academy is one of my favorite books ever. I've read it at least ten times! I understand the people that don't like it. It isn't everyone's style of story. I really like how a lot of it seems real/possible (i. e. the friendship problems at the academy, the feeling of being less than others...) but then there is still that aura of magic, and the almost magical connection of the people to the mountain.
- Sophia, age 8 of Fontana
I love it. It`s cool, I was amaezed so realistic.
- Becca, age 11 of Belfast, ME
I tottalyloved it.
- Jordan, age 12 of Torrance, CA

- Blanka, age 14
Er... Average. I mean I guess to some people it was pretty good, and to some it was gross, and to some it was cruel. It's sort of not my thing, but then again it was pretty good. I am not one to judge something because a character like the teacher was mean. Not all characters are gonna be nice! Some have to be mean. That's what makes the story interesting! But, I admit, It was pretty gross when she kept throwing up...
- Amanda, age 12 of San Diego, CA
Thank you very much, Emily, you took the words right out of my mouth.:) Not much to say, as she said it all. Cruel in some parts, good in most. Overall two toes. Wanna know why? I am an AVID reader of books, read at least three books a day. This book is very boring at some parts, and I just put it down and read something else. Could not keep my attention.
- Gracie, age 12 of Stowe, VT
A really boring book. I could barely read past the first chapter. There are better things you could spend time reading.
- Melissa
I read it last year. I think it was okay. Not my favorite or my pick.
- Emily, age 13 of Nashville, TN
To all you book fans reading my review, (hopefully girls!) seriously, I'm seeing some good reviews on here, but a couple of parts in the book are un-nerving. It seems good when you start reading, but when you get to the middle and somewhere around the end, it turns a little sour. For one thing, the teacher is SUCH a mean, child-hating person. She doesn't care one iota for the girls, she just wants to do her job right, and the way she sees it, she has to be tough. It made me mad when she locked Miri in the closet for doing the right thing. (I think that's how the story went. I know she locked her in a closet.) Miri is a lot like me. I could really understand her. The main storyline at the first is pretty good, I have to admit, very well written. However, later in the book, after we get past the mean teacher part, it starts getting gross. This girl constantly throws up because she's been picked to meet the prince, and she's a nervous wreck. If you can look past these parts, it's a good book. I just wish they had made the ending a little better. I voted three toes earlier, but I have to give it four because it has such a good storyline.
- Ally, age 8 of New York, NY
I would love to be in a princess academy!!
- Darby, age 9 of Goodlettsville, TN
The Princess Academy is great. What really grabed my attention was the way they communicated through sandstone and limestone. How cool is that? I think Miri is a great girl. The world needs more people like her.
- Nicole, age 14 of Mississauga, ON
I own this book and Miri sounds like a wonderful name! I already knew that it takes a lot of work and lessons to become a true princess but Miri was more in love with Petter than Prince Stephan. Though I am glad that Stephen and Brietta got married.
- Maddie, age 10 of Oxford, MI
Thi is a great book. You feel exactly how Miri is feeling, and I was almost sad that Miri didn't marry the prince. I even sort of copyed off Miri's name for one of my stories: Mira!
- Danielle, age 14 of Delano, MN
I really loved this book. It sounds kind of corny because of the name, but it's really great. It's about a kingdom were they choose a new princess by sending every girl from one town to a school. Whichever student does the best is pronounced the new princess. But when robbers trap the girls in the dead of winter, can they escape? The main characters name is Miri and she is a bit of all of us, which is what makes this book so good. So get up and rent this book at your local library. If they don't have it, you can usually ask them to put it on their to-buy list.
- Emily, age 11 of South Jordan, UT
Awesome book period. Really well written and detailed, it makes you feel scared for her when it's scary, happy when she's happy and you TOTALLY feel like youre in her shoes...
- Abby, age 13 of Richmond, VA
Not only does almost every girl like the idea of a princess school, they also like the idea that they could be chosen at random to become a princess. That is part of the reason Princess Acadamy is so pleasing. An incredible story about Miri, a girl living in an outlying territory of an imanginary world, and how she overcomes her smallness, her resentment, and how she makes friends and discoveries that change her life. Her town's only lively hood is carving precious stone blocks from a quarry on a lonely mountain side. All of her life Miri has wanted to work in the quarry alongside her friends and family, which consists of her father and her elder sister. Her father has told her she is not aloud to and she resents this fact, though she loves her father. One day soldiers and a messenger come to the village and annouce all the girls under 18 must go to Princess Acadamy, because one of them will be chosen to be the future princess and wife of the prince. I'll leave the story line at that, but if you want to know the rest you should read the book. The author has woven and excellent story and has put some incredible moral lessons in it. There are even some diplomacy and conversation lessons that I think everyone should learn, though in the book they're hidden in lessons that Miri learns. Overall this book is amazing! I give it five toes!
- Vivian, age 11 of Brooklyn, NY
It's amazing. You would never expect this thing from a princess. I love this book so much I read this 7 times. Miri is the most amazing character in any book!
- Mairead, age 13 of Boston, MA
I just read Princess Academy and before I read it, I thought, "Here goes another princess saving the day!" but it's different! I loved it and it had really good lessons, like how Miri befriended Britta. I definetly give it 5 toes!
- Abrienna, age 12 of Encinitas, CA
Like all books, this one is a little boring at the beginning, but keep reading and you'll be turning pages all night!
- Jyllea, age 14
This is one of the best books. The plot is never bland, and it gets foing pretty fast. I even use some of the rules from the conversation and diplomacy lessons somtimes.
- Alina, age 11 of Plainsboro, NJ
I LOVE this book! The plot is very intiguing and once you pick it up, it's very hard to put it back down.
- Maddy, age 12 of San Diego, CA
I absolutely looooovvvvvveeee this book! Miri is such a ball of love, adventure, knowledge, and exitment all in one! Ten toes at the least!
- Rachelle, age 14 of Kaysville, UT
I loved this book. It showed the other side of regular civilization down in the lowlands. People of Mt. Eskel hd to work together to survive.
- Anna, age 13 of Matthews, NC
I love this book! I have to agree with everybody though, the begining is pretty boring. But from the secound chapter on, you were hooked. Everything and everybody was so "mysterious" in the book I had to keep reading It! 6 toes!
- Nic, age 13
I loved this book! It was amazing. Some parts were a little slow, but it was still a great book. Love, courage, friendship, honor, strength, hope; it's all in this spellbinding tale.
- T, age 12 of Waterloo, IA
Dear zoom, I think princess Academy is a very nice and different book. It is so exciting! Shanon Hale was the author of the book. She wrote another book called The Goose Girl. It was the best book I had ever read.
- Miley, age 14
I love this book. It has so many adventurous details! I think it's awesome! I totALLY RECOMEND IT!
- Rachael, age 12 of Corcoran, MN
Who ever didn't like this book is crazy! I loved it! I didn't like it as much as her "Bayern Books" but it was still good.
- Shani, age 11 of Willow Springs, NC
Princess Academy is an extraordinary book written by one of my favorite authors. It has a good storyline and characters and a great plot and climax. The dialogue and setting are both great. All in all, it's an exciting, enchanting, funny, dangerous, fantastic new novel.
- Emily, age 10 of Toronto, ON
I love this book! It has a very interesting plot that involves a lot of twistes and turns making the book impossible to put down. The characters are very easy to realate to. They have feelings that I too would have if I were in their shoes. When Miri makes her daring attempts to rescue not only herself, but also the other girls at the academy, you are thrust into a remarkable story that you wish would never end. I have also recommended this book to some of my friends and I have had very, very, very positive feedback. They felt the exact same way as me! And, why wouldn't they? 'Princess Academy' has won the 'Newberry Honour Book" award and is a 'New York Times Best Seller'. It is clear that it is a favorite of many girls and boys. Yes, that is right. I said girls and boys. Don't let the word "princess" scare you. It is not femine in any means. Although the main character, Miri, may be a girl the story is absolutley NOT "girly". I mean, 'Harry Potter' is a boy and girls still read his story. So, next time you are at the library, or bookstore or are searching your siblings room for a book to read try "Princess Academy"! I garuntee you will NOT be disapointed.
- Katherine, age 12 of Roanoke, VA
Once I got through the first two chapters of this book, I couldn't put it down! It was really good, so don't stop reading if the beginning is a little slow.
- Kathy, age 12 of Roanoke, VA
I know it's boring at first, but KEEP READING!!! It gets so much better. I couldn't put it down!
- Manisha, age 10 of Madison, MS
This is a really good book. I love the names. They are so cool. At first I didn't really want to read it, but once I did, I LOVED IT!!! My favorite part was at the end when those people attacked the school. FIVE TOES! Read this book.
- Gracie, age 12 of Greenville, SC

- Layla, age 12
I loved this book! The beggining was slow, but it was a great book overall, that I enjoyed a lot.
- Grace, age 11 of Simpsonville, SC
This is a really good book. I think the best thing about it is that it isn't your every day fairy-tale; the ending isn't at all predictable. Although, I think the way Stephan and Britta act around each other is kind of corny. If you liked Ella Enchanted, then you'll like this book. 4 toes!
