Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was awesoume! It's sad in the end because someone dies (not saying who because I might give it away) but it's one of my favourites amoung the series!
- Lisa, age 11 of New York City, NY
I love Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, even though it's sad. It's just that it has so much detail and Harry Potter is so active. You know, I think anyone who wishes they could cast a spell should read the Harry Potter series.
- Dayna, age 10 of Wallaceburg, ON
Love it!!! Its kind of scary at the end but Ive read it all and its good. I wish dumbledore didnt die but oh well.
- Tara, age 13 of GA
I love it. I was at Wal-Mart at midnight the day it came out so I could get the book. I was done by the next day. It's a really good book for kids 11 and up. J. K Rowling is doind a great job. If you haven't read this book you need to it is really good. I don't want to give anything away though. I can't wait till the next book. I have read all 6 so far and I'm going to read all 7. It's an awesome book and you should really read it.
- Will, age 9 of Hopkinton, MA

- Linnea, age 11 of Toledo, OH
Harry Potter 6 was great! I was a little dissapointed that the ending wasn't as exiting as the others, but other than that, it rocked! Sometimes, I culdn't even put the book down because it was such a page turner. Five Toes!
- Vivien, age 9 of Paradise, CA
Go Rowling!!! Wow, I was really suprised when I read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I thought it was going to be pretty bad 'cause the rest of the series were starting to get a little bit bad... only a little I assure you! Anyway, Go Rowling!!!
- Celesine, age 10 of Baldwin Park, CA
I really wanted to review this book, Harry potter and the half-blood -prince. I really enjoyed it. The chapters were kinda long but I liked it. I'ts about hary having his final season at Hogwarts. Hogwarts is a magical school for kids that are spoiled rotten. Harry lives with his Uncle Dursley and Aunt Petunia. You should read it for your self.
- Holland, age 13 of St.Louis, MO
This book was so good, It made me change my opinion on which was my favorite book! I used to love the 4th one but after 3 hours of reading this one (and finishing it in that time!) I started to love this on even more!
- Mishal, age 13 of E. Stroudsburg, PA
Loved this book.. Jo Rowling did it again! Man. I wished I had an imagination as powerful as hers. I think this book is very complicated for younger readers, and the story line is suspensful as always. Many surprises await you if you haven't read this excellent novel yet.
- Sheena, age 13 of New Denmark, NB
I love this book because it is the most exciting book in the Harry Potter series. I loved it so much I read it 7 times since my birthday!
- Umnia, age 10 of Ames, IA
Love it & more!!! Its the best book of HP so far! Its really sad at one part. But I cant tell you youll have to read! I recomend it for everyone!
- Holland, age 13 of St. Louis, MO
I loved it sooo much! I finished it by noon the day after it came out! I cried so much when Dumbledore died. I wish they could bring him back!
- Mary, age 11 of Campbell, OH
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince was totaly my type of book! I was so into this book that it was like my hands were glued to it and I couldn't put it down. I was sad at the end and I wanted to jump into the book and really get Sanpe. I've read 4 of the Harry Potter books this summer and I'm kinda shy to say it but I have alittle crush on Ron Weasly! Rowling is awsome, and I can't wait for book #7!!!
- Julia, age 11 of Red Deer, AB
I love it!!! I started reading it at 3pm and finished it at 4am. It was awesome!!! This is the best one so far and I'm reading it for the sixth time.
- Angela, age 10 of Albuquerque, NM
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is pretty good, but not really J. K. Rowling's best. It does have some twists and turns, but it only makes the book a little confusing. I was hoping for the book to be bigger than the fifth book, however. Overall, I think this book deserves four toes.
- Elizabeth, age 15 of Milton, ON
I am the biggest fan of Harry Potter and Joanne Rowling and I loved it. I got the book the day it came out and finished it eight days later. I think it's the third best Harry Potter book with Prisoner of Azkaban being in first place.
- Eric, age 9 of Eagan, MN
I think Harry Potter#6 Is awsome!!! Snape is a rotten snitch at the end, And I think Jk Rowling should keep making these adventure action-packed books. Harry is really rocking and rolling now, it's a tradage to the wizard world now. Go JK Rowling!!!
- Jozie, age 14 of Houston, TX
I loved it, I finished 2 days after I got it and was up till midnight on both days!!! But I wish harry had not brocken up with ginny!!! She should be their for him in all of his trobles. Very well written!!!
- Tuolumne, age 13 of Guernville, CA
I love this book! I love the whole series!! I really like how each book gets more mature with the age of the kids. It grows with you! That is a really awesome thing that most adult writers don't think to do.
- Emma, age 12 of NY
I loved this book! A lot of people said that they'ld change the ending of the book but although I am upset about him dieing I probably wouldn't change the ending. J. K. made it sound like no one important dies anyway.
- Megan, age 10 of MD
I Loooved this book! It was an exciting adventure, and kept me on the edge of my seat. This book is suspencefull and very well written. It also has other learning puposes such as: vocabulary, morals/lessons and much, much more. P. S. If you have not read the other books in the harry Potter series I suggest you not to read this one.
- Alekhya, age 9 of Vancouver, WA
Oh, my, GOSH! That's all I could say after I read Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, it is like the best book ever!!! I have always loved Joan- oops, J. K. Rowlings novels, but this time, she has totally done a phenomenal job! Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is the best book in all my life!
- Emily, age 12 of St. Helens, OR
I liked Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince until I read the end. When my older sisters read they told me it wasn't as good. So I wasn't to happy about that. I think the third one was the best. Personally I think she's just writing it for the money.
- Sophie, age 10 of Atlanta, GA
I am Joanna's (J. K's) biggest fan! And this book proves how great she is! There are so many surprises in this book. But I won't give ANYTHING away, you'll have to read it to believe it!
- Ashley, age 12 of Powhatan, VA
Whoa! This book is and remains my 2nd favorite in the harry potter series! Rowling continues to surprise me every time! The ending was really sad but very good. I liked the 4th the best.
- Inot, age 14 of UT
I love the Harry Potter books. I was a little disapointed that it wasn't as long as the 5th one but I still liked it a lot. I am sad because so many people keep dying. I just hope that another person doesn't die in the next book. JK rowling is such a good author!
- Beatrice, age 13 of Montreal, QC
I thought it was really good, but it was a descriptional book, the story evolved very slowly, but it is an extremly good book.
- Alex, age 9 of Canton, MI
It is probably the second best book in the Harry Potter series. The reason I didn't like it as much was because it was not as long as the fifth. I love to read so I enjoy long books. Other than that, it was a very good book!!!
- Irene, age 13 of Burnaby, BC
Well Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was pretty good. It wans't the best of all the HP books but I still liked it. I think there's too much romance in this book. I didn't like the ending much... I give it 4/5 toes.
- Mandalyn of Prescott Valley, AZ
Oh my gosh! I could not put the book down, it was that good! I'm a very picky reader, and when something's boring, I immedately put it down. It was so hard to function in class 'cause all your thinking about is "OMG, what's going to happen next?" or " Who the heck is the Half-Blood Prince?!" It constantly keeps you guessing, and her books are so well thought out, it's amazing! If your an adventurous/mystery book lover, you have to read this!
- Emmie
I usually judge books on how much they keep you in suspense, or how well the capture your attention. The first time I read it, it didn't capture me in the same way the other ones did, I forced myself to read it, and that's never a good sign. But I think it was because I was anxious to find out who died. But all in all, it wasn't that great, the Half Blood Prince really isn't what keeps you reading, he turns into more of a sub-plot. The second time around, I enjoyed it a little more, but all in all, it was kind of a disapoinment standing up next to Rowlings other books.
- Cocoa, age 11 of Huntsville, AL
Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince is definately one of my favorite books. It actually came out on my 11th bithrday- all the more reason to love it! In this book you learn a lot more about the characters and a lot of mysteries are answered. This is my fave Harry Potter book yet.
- Taylor, age 10 of Edmonton, AB
I liked the book, but it somehow seemed different from the first five books. J. K Rowlings seemed to use a different style of writing for it - it seemed a little experimental, but I liked it all the same.
- Tara, age 12 of Valdosta, GA
I loved this book. It was really good all the way through. It had a great plot even though the ending was sad. Rowling is an extremly good author. I am so excited about the next book.
- Chadwick, age 16 of W. Columbia, SC
Oh goodness... What can I say? One of Rowling's finest! This book shows a lot of character interaction, yet does not skimp on the action. The sad ending, yet hopeful send-off makes you know you have to read the next book. Five-an-a-half toes up! (Hoping the next will be enormous! 1000+ pages...)
- Grace, age 8 of Saint Paul, MN
I loved it! It's way better than the other books! The first chapter was sort of boring and the ending was very sad but the rest was all action!
- Lizzy, age 11 of Bowdoin, ME
I loved that book! I almost cried when I was done because it was so sad. It was also a really cool book, though, probably my favorite out of all the Harry Potter books.
- Megan, age 13 of Sterling, MA
I thought it was written exellently like the others, but it was very simple, which I don't really like. But is was very romantic. That's more my thing. Younger kids like my little sister might not like it because not only was it romantic but it was very sad. It made depressed for the whole week I read it (and a bit afterwards). I suggest the fifth book instead! It was quite a bit better.
- Varun, age 11 of Gilbert, AZ
This book was awesome. JK Rowling has done it again. I've read it 4 times. Every time I'm still in suspence. I give this book 5 thumbs up. Man I'm going to go read it again right now!
- Jennifer, age 14 of Concord, NC
I loved this book because it seemed so much more sophisticated and up to date age wise than the other five books. J. K. Rowling is a great author and Harry Potter is one of the best series I have ever read. I have been reading these books ever since the third grade, and even now as a high schooler, am thrilled by the imaginative work of art these books have formed into and become.
- Emily, age 13 of Charlotte, NC
This book was really good, but sooo not as good as the other ones. It was really weird... and I mean, I didn't like the ending. And some of the stuff was totally obvious, like who the whole half-blood prince was. But... it was still pretty good.
- Meredith of Salt Lake City, UT
I loved Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The only thing I would change is the ending. It is interesting seeing all the characters mature in their interests and stuff. I give it 5 toes.
- Mashal, age 11 of Tomball, TX
The book was ok. It got a little mixed up at the middle. They barely mentioned other students at hogwarts. It wouldcve been more fun if harry could come back to hogwarts. I had fun reding the book but it came down the expectation line. It shouldve been more longer and more adventurous. Overall the book gets 2 toes.
- Allyson, age 14 of Danville, OH
It was not J. K.'s best book so far, but it was definatly good. I thought that the things that happened were really sad, but I think that she must have a reason. I can't wait for the next book in the series!
- Joseph of NJ
It was kinda weird cause it ended with the school clsing and some one important died, and they didnt even end at the train station.
- Leandra of Inver Grove Heights, MN
I love this book! I love that there is tons of suspence leading up to the end. I was so surprised about what happened at the end. I couldn't belive it. I won't give it away read it your self.
- Ian, age 10 of Leeds, MA
I liked the Half-Blood Prince so-so, because it was a good book and it lead up the 7th book, but it was very sad at the end when he dies.
- Erin, age 15 of Franklin, PA
I liked this book a lot. The beginning is a little boring and the end is really sad, but the middle was good. I'm not really looking foward to the 7th book because somebody else will probably die and I don't want to find out who. I give this book 4 toes.
- Gabriella, age 9 of New York, NY
J. K. Rowling... wow, she really amazed me. It was a really great book. The suspense was nerve-racking. When Harry (If Harry!) Conquers You Know Who, Well, If you read it you know how he will. Harry has a lot to do!!
- Shea, age 9 of Hutchinson, KS
I liked it a lot, but it seems like the books get darker as they go to the end. I loved the books, and I always will, but I didn't like the 6th one as much.
- Jessica, age 9 of Tooele, UT
I love this book! This may sound wierd, but, I love to read really hard books that most kids can't read. It also is cool because all the Harry Potter books connect some-how. I love this one because... well I don't want to tell you who, but, someone dies that almost everyone loves (thier favorite caracter pretty much).
- Sabrina, age 11 of St. Louis, MO
It is better than the other 6. I have read it 3 times. I can't wait for the 7th, but I am sad the books are ending!
- Char, age 11 of Manyberries, AB
I love it! I've read all of her other books and this one was by faaarrr the best! Even thought the end was sad, I thought that made it really good! I just can't wait for the movie! And the next book!!!
- Annie, age 11 of Richmond, VA
I loved Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! It was such an awsome book! One of J. K Rowling's best books in the series. Ther were many, many, many reasons why I liked it. I'll try to sum them up as good as possible. Well, it was paked with adventure, romance, comedy and almost anything you can imagine. Another reason is the caracter are wonderful. All of them so well thought out. I also loved the book because I have been awaiting it for so long! I just couldn't wait! It also continued the story from the past 5 books.
- Kira, age 11
I enjoy the Harry Potter books but the six one was not up to standard. It wasn't a particulary interesting read and the whole story seemed like a draft, not a finished story, not a final draft. It also is only 659 pages while the fifth one was 780 and in smaller font though in an interview J. K. Rowling said that the fifth was going to be the biggest of the HP books. All in all I give this book three toes.
- Juan, age 13 of Liverpool, NY
This book was O. K. but the ending was terrible and the middle was very weird. The book ends with someone dieing and hogwarts closing down, So how is harry supposed to have more cool adventures in the school? And herminie loves ron but is jelouse of rons no name girlfriend. In all this book gets 2 toes.
- Mags, age 16
Question: Why must J. K. Rowling keep killing off all the cool people? I wasn't going to read it because Sirius was gone, so I practically forced myself to read this one. He rocked. Not fair. I don't really know if I want to read the next one. It was a well written book, like the last 5.. but like the last one, it was too... sad. I was crying on the last chapter. Good. But frustratingly upsetting. I ramble. I can't help but ramble about this book.
- Sara, age 9 of New Canaan, CT
Harry Potter books are downright amazing, and this one is no exception! This book totally rocks, period. There's no such thing as boredom in the book, it's hugely action-packed and entertaining. 5 toes up, great for all ages of HP fans.
- Aisha, age 11 of Los Angeles, CA
I love all Harry Potter and all the books and movies. I think Half-Blood Prince was an excellent Harry Potter book like most of them. The HBP has happiness in the midst of sadness. Im looking forward to seeing the new movie Goblet of Fire in November!!
- Whitney, age 10 of Blaine, MN
I love the book Harry Potter and the Half - Blood prince. Because It's very exciting and has a lot to it. All the Harry Potter books are like that. I ussualy get very board with books. But these ones I love and there not boring if you read them more than once. So if you want to read books that are very exciting and have a lot to them then you should try reading the Harry Potter books. But I wound't recomend them for ages 8 and below. Because there's a lot of scary scary fantasy made up things that if younger kids read them they might have very bad dreams and get very sacared.
- Tory, age 13 of Coldwater, MS
Harry Potter and the Half Blooded Prince was a great book, full of twist and turns. It's a book the whole family should enjoy!!!
- Omar, age 13 of IL
I love this book because it's full of surprises, it reveals alot and it's fun to read. I think J. K. Rowling never runs out of immagination that's why her book's never go out of stile. This book might be long but it's worth it.
- Jacob, age 10 of Herdon, VA
This is one of the best Harry Potter books yet! The series is awesome and the books get better every time one comes out! I can't wait until the next book comes out!
- Tess, age 12 of Davis, CA
I thought it was pretty good. I was partly right who the Half Blood Prince was. I'm one of the people who waited up till midnight to get it (about half my town did too). I thought it was really great book, except it had a really sad ending.
- Xauntal, age 14 of Hesperus, CO
This book was very different than the other books in this series. At the end it was very sad. I was completly devestated but for some odd reason I really enjoyed the book because through the death at the end of this book Harry learned much more about how to live and I believe I did too. I would recommend this book only if you have read the others in the series first. If you read be prepared though.
- Alyssa, age 18 of OH
I loved this book! Even though I just turned 18, you're never too old to read Harry! Harry encounters many dangerous adventures in the book and even starts hanging out with Dumbledore more often. The only thing I didn't like was that a main character dies... he/she used to be one of my favorites. I won't say who died but I will offer a word of advise. Once you get to page 530 or so... make sure you have enough time cut out in your schedule to keep reading this book! You won't be able to put it down! I finished the whole thing in about 3 hours and I've read it a few times since! Definately read this book if you haven't already... it's amazing!
- Emily, age 11 of Essex, VT
I loved the book Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. I thought it was very exciting and that she put a lot of suprises in the book. I thought it was a great book!!
- Morgan, age 14 of Battle Creek, MI
I thought that the begining and middle were good. But I was kinda dissapointed with the end. I wont reveal the ending but I was dissapointed with it. I hope the next book is better!
- Gabriella, age 11 of York, ME
I really liked this book. This is my second favorite book in the HP series. The only part I didn't like was when, (you know if you read it!) dieas. Also it was sad how Ron and Hermione were fighting all the time. But I loved all of the adventure. 4 and a half little toesies!
- Eneri, age 13 of Burnaby, BC
I read this book in three days but I didn't want to! I wanted to read it slowly to make it last longer 'cause it's such an excellent book. It was almost as good as the fifth book. There was alot hugging and kissing. The seventh book will be out in two years. I can't wait!
- Niha, age 12 of Fullerton, CA
I love this book! I went to Barnes & Nobles on July 15th at 12 o' clock midnight with my dad and I got the book, and then I finished it in a few hours. It's sad because... dies but I have a good theory for why! I love this book!
- Sandra, age 14 of San Jose, CA
This book is so cool! It's really fun to read if you read the first 5 books because you get to see the characters all grown up. This book has everything. Romance, drama and mild violence. I think people should read this book because it is a really fun book.
- Chris, age 12 of London, ON
Harry Potter And The Half-blood Prince Is The Greatest book Ive read! If Your a Harry Potter Fan And U Love To Read This Is The Book To Read. There Are A Lot Of Twists And Turns. I recomend This Book If U Like To Read And U Like Your Genre To Be Adventoures pick this book. But make sure you read it from the first book or else you wont undderstand the book.
- Karoline, age 11 of Windsor, ON
I loved harry potter 6. I think that to be able to understand it, u had to have read all the books, which I have. This book is sad near the end, but u have to read it to find out why. I'd recommend this book to all of my friends. Even though it is long and might take a while to read, it is an awsome book!
- Vivek, age 14 of Chicago, IL
This was one of the best installments of the Harry Potter series to date. It had action and continued the story quite well. The end leaves you in awe and waiting for the next book. I read it in 3 days because it was so good. I give it a 11/10.
- Fatima of Halifax, NS
It was absolutely awesome! Some parts, like the dating, were just plain gross but it had an original story line and a shock of surprises. Great work JK Rowling.
- Bailey, age 14 of Hartland, WI
I really enjoyed this book. Something very unexpected and sad happens in this. Something horrible happens to one of Harry's good friends (and its not Ron or Hermonie) You'll have to read for yourself to find out! I gave this book 5 toes!! It was so awesome!
- Maya, age 10 of Albuquerque, NM
I absolutly love the new Harry Potter book. It was a huge set up for the 7th book, and was really thrilling!!! I have already read it 3 times. I can't wait for the 7th book.
- David, age 10 of Dublin, OH
This was an awsome book. Rowling really nailed it this time. It was like one of Tolkien's books. I am already making predictions for book 7. Sad ending. It was so good I couldnt put it down until I finished it. 5 hours.
