There'll be nine little children sitting on the bench.

And if two little children run all the way home.
There'll be eight little children sitting on the bench.

(Continue taking away one more child and singing about the number remaining.)

The Teletubbies love to run around Teletubbyland in a figure of eight. Help your child play with numbers in the same fun way. Go outside with some chalk and write the numbers from 1 to 5 as large as you can on the sidewalk. Start with the number 1 and walk on the number. Sing as you walk along:

Here is number one. Number one is so much fun.
Here is number two. Number two is, too.
Here is number three. I'm glad that you're with me.
Here is number four. Isn't there some more?
