Water is wonderful - whether it's the rain falling outside, or bath time at the end of a day.

Make a rain bath for your baby. Take a one-gallon plastic milk bottle. Leave the handle, but cut off the top so that you can scoop up water. Use a turkey skewer or other sharp pointed object to punch several small holes in the bottom of the milk bottle. In the bath, scoop up some of the warm water and let the little streams of water splash your baby or small child. Keep the bath water away from baby's face until he gets used to the sensation of this bath water rain. (From Baby Play & Learn.)

Help your child make a "drizzle" painting. Tape a sheet of paper to a standing board or easel. Paint blobs of color along the top edge of the paper so that the paint runs (drizzles) down the paper. Let it dry. Then turn the paper so a different edge is on top. Paint blobs of color along this top edge so that the paint drizzles down. Let it dry. What a beautiful drizzle painting you have! Give each other a Big Hug!

Put on your hat, put on your coat and your boots and go outside for a rain walk. See if any neighborhood creatures are out enjoying the rain. . . or if they all seem to have taken cover. See if you can find some rain-wet pebbles. Take them home. Leave them outside and let them dry. How do they look? The same? Different?
