Cast of Sesame Street About the Show

Sesame Street's landmark 35th season launched April 5, 2004 on your local PBS station with 26 brand new episodes. Check your local TV Schedule to find when it's playing in your area.

"The Street We Live On", is a prime-time special that kicked off the new season using the popular Elmo's World format. This hour-long episode took a look at Sesame Street today, and over the last 35 years.

"Sesame Moments" featured celebrities and non-celebrities recounting their favorite Sesame Street moments from the past 35 years. Celebrities included Julianne Moore, Norah Jones, Seth Green, Venus Williams, Martina McBride, Ruben Studdard, Harvey Fierstein, Kelsey Grammer, Dennis Franz, Natalie Portman, Amy Brenneman, Doris Roberts, Wayne Brady, Jason Biggs, Harry Connick Jr., and the one and only Cher!

In addition to the premiere episode, Season 35 of Sesame Street includes some very special new content and a few new surprises!

New Sesame Street celebrity characters star in original parodies including Dr. Feel (Dr. Phil), Joe Hundred Guy (Joe Millionaire), and an absolutely hysterical parody of the Tonight Show.

13 new Global Grover segments find him visiting countries across the world including Mexico, Israel, and Poland.

The one-minute animated segment Global Thingy returns, and will alternate with Madlenka; animated segments based on the children's book of the same name, about a little girl who lives in a diverse neighborhood.

And still there's more: a new closing segment called Trash Gordon, that features Oscar the Grouch reading bedtime stories to Slimey. Season 35 promises to be the best season of Sesame Street yet!
