Colorful tissue paper can be an especially inviting material
for creative play.
Materials:
- Tissue paper in several colors
- Tray or shoe box
- Cotton swabs or small brushes
- Liquid starch or diluted glue (half glue, half water)
- Plain paper for the background
Directions:
- Have your child tear the tissue paper into small bits, using a
tray or shoebox to hold all the pieces.
- Using cotton swabs or small brushes, let your child paint the
background paper with liquid starch or diluted glue (half glue, half water) and
then arrange the tissue paper pieces on the sticky paper to create a design or
picture.
- Your child might also want to make a similar collage with scraps
of wrapping paper, wallpaper, greeting cards, or bits of magazine pictures or
yarn.
