Some Things Change...Some Things Stay the Same
Thoughts for the Week:
Children
experience many changes in their lives, from everyday transitions to major life
adjustments, like when there's a new baby, a move, a parent's new job, or
divorce. Along with helping children understand some of the changes in the
world around them, we can also help them see that some things stay the same.
For example, when we change the way we look on the outside, we're still the
same person inside. Keeping routines consistent, helping children know what to
expect, and offering extra comfort when a child is in need, can give children
the stability to handle changes that come their way.

Summary of the Week:
This week
explores different kinds of transformations -- what happens to colors when
they're mixed together, how flowers and insects grow, and how people might look
different because of what they wear. And Mister Rogers changes the floater in
the toilet tank and talks about bathroom drains.
In the
Neighborhood of Make-Believe a mysterious package arrives for Purple Panda --
one that changes colors and flies! What could be inside? The neighbors find
out they have to be patient until Purple Panda comes by and the package hatches
itself -- it's a purple light that flashes the signal 1-4-3 for "I love
you."
