Fingerprints remind us that each
one of us is unique.
Materials:
-
Stamp pad
- Drawing
paper
- Index
cards
Directions:
Have
your child carefully look at his or her fingerprints. Explain that everyone's
fingerprints are unique. Let your child use a stamp pad to experiment with and
make prints from different fingers and thumbprints.
Ask your child to make
and compare two prints with the same finger. Use the stamp pad to make
fingerprints of your own, then have your child compare them with his or her own
prints.
When
you're ready to end this activity have your child make a thumbprint on an index
card and write his or her name on the card. Hang the print on the refrigerator
or hang it on a wall.
