CelebrationsActivity for Parents
There's Always Something To Celebrate

Age Range: 3-5

Subject:

  • Celebrations

Objectives:

  • Building Self Esteem
  • Develop a Caring Attitude Towards Others
  • Develop Observation Skills

Celebrating the little things can help your child--and you--realize how much there is to appreciate all around us.

Materials: None

Directions:

At least once a week, ask each person in the family to talk about something that happened that he or she would like to celebrate. These might include:

  • noticing a beautiful sunset
  • helping another person
  • learning something new
  • using words instead of hitting

You might want to make this a routine for the end of the week, maybe Friday evening or Sunday afternoon.
