Round rice cakes make a great base
for a face that can show different emotions and generate some healthy talk
about feelings.
Materials:
- Rice cakes
- Spreading knife
- Peanut butter or cream cheese
- Raisins
- Apple slices
- Bananas
Directions:
Let each child spread a rice cake
with peanut butter or cream cheese. That's the foundation for a face.
What kind of feeling would the
children like to make on the rice cake faces? Raisins could be used for eyes,
noses or mouths. An apple slice can make a smiling or frowning mouth. A
banana slice could be a surprised mouth or eyes.
You may want to ask the children to
talk about what makes them feel angry, sad, surprised, scared or happy.
