First gather a few things:
dishpan
washable dolls or animals
soap
wash cloths
towels
You could pretend it's bedtime or a fancy occasion to be especially clean. Cover the floor or table with a large towel before you fill the dishpan with water. But you could use the sink or bathtub instead. Then dry the dolls and get them ready for bed.
(You can never go down the drain…not even dolls can go down the bath drain -- only water and suds go down, never ever people!)

 | While your child is involved in this kind of play, you can remind him or her of the message in the Neighborhood song, "You can never go down the drain." Not even dolls can go down the bath drain -- only water and suds go down, never ever people! |
