First gather a few things:
graham crackers
peanut butter
honey
non-fat dry milk
rolling pin
bowl
plastic bag
To make the crumbs, you can put two or three graham crackers into a plastic bag and let the children take turns crushing them with a rolling pin. You may need to repeat this several times until you have a full cup of graham cracker crumbs.
Combine the crumbs with a cup of peanut butter, 1/4 cup honey and 1/2 cup instant non-fat dry milk to make a kind of dough that the children can roll into little balls. Refrigerating these graham cracker treats for about a half hour will make them firm.

 | Children learn so much when they are involved with making food. They learn about math when they measure and count. They experience scientific principles when they see how foods change at different temperatures or when they're mixed. They also learn about cooperation and can feel the joy and self-confidence that comes from doing something "grown-up." |
