Nighttime

Concerns about Nighttime and Other Scary Things

Thoughts for the Week:

Nighttime can be a difficult time for children because having to go to sleep brings separation from the people they love. Children often wonder if everything will still be the same when they awaken. They want to be sure that their parents (the people who give them stability and comfort) will still be there. Most children have these concerns at one time or another, and talking about things that happen during the night can help children feel more secure when it's dark. Reassuring them that the people they love will be nearby to care for them at night - just like during the day - is a good way to help children learn that adults all over the world care for children in many different ways.
