Tennis Rivalry Heats Up at Wimbledon
Monday was the opening day of Wimbledon - the most famous tennis tournaments in the world. It's held every summer in England. It's the oldest event in the sport. It's played on grass courts where the ball moves extra fast. Cool!
This year, Wimbledon has some exciting match-ups. The most talked about is the ongoing battle between Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. Federer is the defending champion, with five straight Wimbledon wins. Nadal has won three French Opens. The French Open is another major tennis tournament, but it's played on slower clay court, not grass.
The two have played each other before. Federer beat Nadal in the finals of last year's Wimbledon, and Nadal beat Federer at the French Open this year. Fans are eager to see them face off to see if Federer can hold off his young rival.
Another player to watch is Justine Henin. She's never won Wimbledon, even though she's ranked number one in Women's tennis.
There's big money on the line for these athletes and the competition is sure to be fierce in the game where love means nothing!
I'm Lucy and that's what happened in Sports this week!
Let's see you score some points of your own in this week's Match Game!
