Q: Yo theo, have you ever done a really cool
roller coaster and then done it again, and againand had to stay home from school because you were sick?
I have! — Jake, 7, Utah
Theo: Dear Jake, Andy, Miguel and I went on a very cool roller coaster last summer. It went
up really high and then dropped down super fast! We were screaming and screaming -- it was fun and kind
of scary too. When we were finished, we went on it again! When I got off the ride the second time, I
felt a little weird for a few minutes, like everything was spinning around, but I was okay by the time
we had lunch. It was summer, so I didn't have to stay home from school!
Q: On Maya and Miguel's birthday, what did you get for Maya? (Psst...Did she give you a hug to
say thank you?) — Winnie, 10, Florida
Theo: Dear Winnie, I made a collage for Maya on her birthday – I cut out a bunch of pictures
from magazines of things she likes and glued them on a poster board. She really liked it and got so excited
that she did give me a hug in front of everyone. (Who told you?!?!) I was pretty embarrassed, but Maya’s
my friend, so I tried not to make a big deal out of it.
Q: My brother loved me when I was a baby. Do you have a brother or sister who loved you when
you were a little baby too? I used to want a baby brother or sister, but now I want a horse instead. — Kalli,
6, Maryland
Theo: Just like you, I have an older brother who loved me when I was a baby. But I hope he still
loves me and doesn’t want a horse instead!
Q: what city do you like most — camila andrea, 11, Nevada
Theo: The city I like the most is the one I live in! But I think it would be fun to visit some
other cities that I’ve read about. Washington DC would be great to see because it’s the capital
of the United States, and I’ve always wanted to go to Paris so I could climb to the top of the
Eiffel Tower!
Q: Does a centipede have 100 legs? — Joe, 7, The United States
Theo: Dear Joe, That’s a really great question! I looked it up in a few encyclopedias,
and here’s what I found out: Centipedes don’t actually have to have 100 legs. They can have
anywhere between 14 — 180 pairs of legs. From what I read, it seems like they average between 25-35
pairs of legs, or 50-70 legs altogether. If centipedes were like people, that’d be a lot of sneakers!
Q: HI THEO YOU HAVE THE SAME NAME AS A BOY IN MY CLASS. I HAVE A FRIEND THAT LEFT SCHOOL. HAVE
YOU EVER HAD A FRIEND (BEST FRIEND) LEAVE YOUR SCHOOL? — Irene, 11, another country
Theo: Dear Irene, When I was in 3rd grade, I had a really good friend named Jacob, and he moved
away. I was pretty sad when he left, but we still keep in touch. We send each other letters, emails and
pictures, and we even see each other when he comes back to the neighborhood to visit. It’s hard
when a friend leaves, but the good news is that there are lots of ways to stay in touch!
