Q: If you could be anything in the world what
would it be? I would be a shark. There my favorite animal and no I`m not kidding—Chelsea, 14, Michigan
Theo: Dear Chelsea, If I could be anything in the world, I would be a famous inventor/scientist.
If I had to pick an animal to be, well, I would be a chimpanzee; they’re considered the smartest
animal in the world. They can learn and speak with humans in sign language! And wouldn’t it be
cool to be able to hold things with your feet? Sharks are cool, too. Did you know that sharks have been
around since before the dinosaurs?
Q: Theo, have you ever lost a game of basketball?I know it might be a little easy for you to
play basketball because you've been playing it for years, but I'm just wondering if you've ever lost a
game of basketball.
— Vanessa, 7, UNITED STATES
Theo: Dear Vanessa, Of course I’ve lost a basketball game before! Actually, just the other
day Andy beat me at one-on-one. But I’ll get him next time! Playing sports isn’t just about
winning and losing, but having fun! Losing once in a while actually makes it that much more exciting
when you win later. It gives you something to work for.
Q: Dear Theo I live in Texas and do you know how many presidents were born in Virginia? — Anjan,
8, Texas
Theo: Dear Anjan, Actually I do! We just went over that in social studies. There were
eight US Presidents that were born in what is now Virginia: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, James
Madison, James Monroe, William Henry Harrison, John Tyler, Zachary Taylor, and Woodrow Wilson.
Q: What's your favorite joke? — Hannah, 9, California
Theo: Dear Hannah, I just learned a new joke (that’s why it’s my favorite!). Why
was the broom late? It over swept! Get it?!? Isn’t that funny?
Q: What city interests you the most? — Kenia, 11, California
Theo: Dear Kenia, I seem to have a different favorite city all the time! Right now, I am really
interested in London. I think it would be great to go there and see Big Ben (which is an enormous clock!)
and the Tower of London and all of those red double decker buses. And it would be cool to watch the Changing
of the Guard at Buckingham Palace. Oh, and I’d love to go for a ride on the Tube – that’s
the underground train that takes you all over the city.
Q: are you good at studying? — CAMILA, 9
Theo: Dear Camila, I think I’m pretty good at studying, but it takes a lot of hard work
and practice! My teachers helped me learn how to study better, and my mom and dad gave me a bunch of
great tips too. But mostly you just have to keep trying and trying and ask for help when you need it.
