Dress Up
Target Words
wet, dry, sweltering, precipitation, downpour, drizzle, storm, shower, cloudy, hail, snow, sunny
Materials
Dress–up clothes from your closets: coats, hats, dresses, shorts, shoes, boots, scarves, etc.
Directions
One person calls out a weather word. The other people put on clothes that they would wear in that kind of weather.
Try to get dressed as fast as you can. If you have more than one person playing, make it a race! If it's just one person, try going faster each time you change clothes.
Then switch places so someone else is calling out weather words. Make sure everyone gets a turn. (The grownups have to dress up, too!)
Extension
You can play dress up with any words, not only weather words. Make sure you have lots of clothes to choose from and get creative! Try calling out these words and think about what you would wear:
Vacation, Villain, Athlete, Concert, Bizarre, Boss
