Printables

Kids (and lions!) love coloring and games, so we've created special pages that capture the fun of these activities while building literacy skills.

Letters Pages

Alphabet Cutouts (PDF, 284k)
Learn letters, spell words or make up your own letter game with these cutouts of big and little letters A-Z.

Letters and Numbers Coloring Pages (PDF, 668k)
Practice writing letters, numbers and number words on these lined sheets, featuring The Vowelles and a whole barnyard of animals.

Games

Destination: Library (PDF, 340k)
Take an alphabetical trip to the library, one letter at a time. Use your imagination as you march through the alphabet board, answering questions with words that begin with A all the way through Z.

Word Worms (PDF, 592k)
Create a word worm by matching the letters at the beginning and ends of words, just like dominos! When you've run out of words, it's story time - each player makes up a story using all of the words in the order they appear.

Watson's Word Wall (PDF, 888k)
Each Word Wall showcases over twenty words beginning with a featured letter. One player picks up a word and begins telling a story, using the word. The next player picks up a new word, and continues the story.

Matching (PDF, 412k)
Each of these eight matching games challenges young readers to group words together - words that rhyme, words with short vowel sounds, words in similar categories, opposites and synonyms.
