DINOSAUR TRAIN embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains, while encouraging basic scientific thinking skills as the audience learns about life science, natural history and paleontology. Each of the 40 half-hour episodes features Buddy, an adorable preschool age Tyrannosaurus Rex, and includes two 11-minute animated stories along with brief live action segments hosted by renowned paleontologist Dr. Scott Sampson. Young viewers can join Buddy and his adoptive Pteranodon family on a whimsical voyage through prehistoric jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans, as they unearth basic concepts in life science, natural history and paleontology.
There are two Dinosaur Train collections:
Math Adventures in Troodon Town: All aboard! Match dinosaurs of different sizes to train cars for a perfect fit; search for flying dinosaurs to complete a pattern; and help Buddy collect and sort crystals of different shapes, sizes, and colors.
Classic in the Jurassic, Jr.: It’s time for Troodon Town’s annual sporting event! Help with the competition by estimating, measuring, and comparing distances, volume, and weight. Compare dinosaur sizes, putting them in order from smallest to tallest, and sort them by different characteristics.
