“OMG, so many friends, so many times! Well, my female best friend in the world - my twin Caitlin - hmm...The best thing she's done for me is be not only my sister, but my best friend as well. Caitlin is hilarious and is quite the chatterbox! My male best friend in the world is my neighbor and “Soul brother" Denny. Our families have always been close. The best thing he has ever done for me is stand up for me when times are rough. My other two friends, twins Ellie and Ryan - Ryan always puts a smile on my face and can always make me feel better. Ellie is always there for me when I need to tell someone my secrets. I have tons of friends, but my other closet bud would be my “Massachusetts brotha", Connor!!! His dad and my dad work for the same company and our families met at a company picnic in New Jersey. Our families remained close after the picnic and whenever we're in Massachusetts, we crash at their place and whenever they're in New York, they crash at our place. Anyway, the best thing Connor has done for me is be like a “Brotha" to me and treat me like a “Sista"! No, we are not “Gangstas"!”

"Well my bff now lives in Japan (WHY?! ), but she was the greatest thing that ever happened to me. When I was in 1st grade I was really shy and she was the first person to say hi to me and become my friend. We stayed friends and then in 2nd grade we were INSEPERABLE. Literally. We were partners for everything and shared secrets and we made up a thing called the fruit club and she was peach and I was cherry! It continues through 3rd and 4th grade but then in 5th grade we were even more inseparable. We played on the tire swing and had sleepovers and didn't let anything come between us. And then she had to move. But the nicest thing she did was the day before she moved I went to her house and we just hugged and cried and she said "We have a connection that will never be broken, even if we are on other sides of the world"..."

“One day I started noticing some annoying traits in myself. Just small things like the way I talked or walked or the things I said to my friends. I ended up asking all my friends if they thought I was annoying. ”Of course not!” was the immediate answer from all of them. Then there was my one friend I was hesitant to ask. We weren't very close friends, we were just folder partners in chorus and we had auditioned for the school play together (she ended up with the lead and I got ensemble) When I asked her she didn't give me a direct answer. So I asked her again I said "*her name* tell me the truth am I annoying??” and she told me I was sometimes. It may seem mean, but I was so relieved to hear it, I thought all my friends were lying to me because I was like terribly annoying. The girl told me the truth and that’s all I really wanted.”

"I've only known this friend for a year, a year minus 3 days to be exact. We started talking on my birthday when he said Happy Birthday to me online and that talk went. Throughout this year, we've done everything together and gone through a lot. But the best thing that ever happened between our friendships was when we were in a big fight, one that had lasted almost a month. I tried to ask him if he was still mad at something over MSN and he just didn't say much and seemed like he didn't care about the friendship anymore. After that short conversation I felt like crud. To my surprise though I received an e-mail the next day, with his apology for being rude the previous night and when I read that whole e-mail, tears came to my eyes. I was so glad that the friendship was going to go on. This is our last year of high school and each time I listen to 'Graduation', I wonder how the future is going to unfold."

But Colleen would tell me the truth and I was wrong. Allyson brought me back up from me crying about it and she still likes me. 2. At teen camp the night before rafting the next day, that night was a thunderstorm and I hate storms!!!! She let me sleep with her cuddly koala, while Chelsea sang a couple of soothing songs to have me fall asleep until the storm passed over. And 3. At my sleepover party in June, I got nightmares and had trouble sleeping. My friend Maggie sang some lullabies to have me sleep in no time. She showed me her mom and dad's room, and the gym, and the guest room, and her brothers' (their names are Jamal and Connor) room, and the large puffy house in her yard, and her nanna's room, and finally- her own bedroom with a canopy bed. I love my friend a lot!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Lori, #5, you need to forgive Patricia! Think of it as a choice & not a feeling. You may still be mad but you should always be forgiving. I struggle with this issue myself. It’s not easy but u need to do it. Try talking to her about talking about you. If she doesn’t stop, try to talk to a grownup about it. And start to hang out with other kids too! Don’t trust her with something you don’t want anyone to know.”

"My friend Patricia is really nice but she does talk about me. Like there was this one time that I had to go to the computer room with my other friend Missy so she could finish something, and Patricia knew, so at recess she and her friend Maggie talked about me. And they were talking about fat girls and skinny girls so they said that I was on a diet. So when we came in from recess, I knew something was wrong, so she told me. And I was really mad, so I thought about telling on her, but I didn't. So she said sorry, but I know soon that she will do it again, because she hasn't done it in like four months, and that is a long time. Do you think I should forgive her next time or not?"

"Dumples: Jared is such a great friend! One time there was a charity event at my school where they were selling these neat T-shirts for $45.00. All the girls in my grade decided to get one but this girl named Ruby said 'AwwwÖbut then Violet can't afford it, so it'd be mean if we all got one. Wait! Who cares how Violet feels?' Ouch! Then my BFF Lexi said 'Everyone who isn't a stuck up brat. Are you sure you want a charity t-shirt? How can you be the class snob if your wearing something that isn't from A&F (no offence to A&F)?' Everyone started laughing. The next day, everyone wanted wristbands instead so no one else found out I couldn't afford the shirt (tax season). Ruby's still mean to me, but now I'm like 'Who cares what she thinks?'"
--Violet, 13
"My best friend did something sooo nice for me. My class made clay animals in art and I made a bunny. When it got cooked in the oven, somehow, mine exploded! I cried! My best friend saw how sad I was and with her own money, she bought 2 bunnies for each of us! It cost 17 bucks! Real nice, huh? BUT, she has gotten this real irritating attitude around me. I don't know why. I just want it to stop. I want our friendship to stay together, but I don't know how to tell her she is getting on my nerves. I DON'T want to lose her, which I am close to. I just want us to be good friends."
--Andrea, 9

"OK, so one time, my so-called friend named Lucy got really jealous of me for snagging the lead role in the school play (Peter Pan. Even though I'm a girl, I got the part!). She stole my permission slip for our class's totally awesome field trip to Imax theatre (We were gonna see 'Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban' in 3D!). My REAL friend Jared noticed that she took my permission slip (which was of course totally rude), and shot her the evil eye. But then he hatched a plan; when our teacher was collecting our permission slips, she stuffed mine into her desk. When the teacher came to me, I was looking frantically in my binder. She thought I didn't bring it! But then, Jared (who sits next to Lucy, and noticed that the slip of paper was dangling out of her desk) blew at the inside of her desk. The permission slip tumbled out of her desk, and she tried to grab it, but our teacher got there first! She read the signature, and got SO mad, she banned Lucy from the field trip! When Jared told me about what happened, I threw my arms around him! I just LOVE Harry Potter, and I could not bear at all to miss this field trip! We sat next to each other in the movie theater, and during the previews, I high-fived him for a job well done on getting Lucy to stay off of the field trip! JARED ROX MY SOX!"

For me it was kind of weird because I'm usually at the giving end of the stick, not the receiving end. Like that time I helped that 10-year-old boy. We were acting in a Christmas play, and some of the other boy actors were being total jerks to him (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!). "One of my best friends, Rebecca (nickname Becca), did the one thing no one else has ever done in my life. She cared. One day in winter, it was really chilly, and I forgot to bring a sweater or jacket. I was waiting in line at school when I saw Becca running up to me wearing one of her jackets and holding another. She handed me one and said, 'It's for you. I realized that it was real cold this morning, and that maybe you would need a sweater.' I nearly cried. She was being so thoughtful; I don't know what I would do without her!!!"

And when I got off the bus at my friend's bus stop (because I was going to her house for a few hours) we ran inside to get the scooters and played and played until my mom came to pick me up. The only bad thing is that she moved away. But I'll visit her sooner or later."

When we made birthday cards we made them on paper and they got bound into a book. One of the girls wrote 3 musketeers on it. Well at her house 1-2-3 she crossed it out. She quit the group to be friends with me. Thank you Katie, and I miss you Katie!!!!"

"I go on this forum for my fave TV station. Well one of my friends (I know him as Prince Kira) was getting bugged by this kid for having a friend that was a girl. Well I stepped in and set him straight. Ever since, Kira has called me 'Chibicool' instead of my username 'chibigal.' And he's stuck up for me, so has his friend that's a girl, even if she is a little clueless :p."

"A few days ago, my class was having lunch with the other fourth grade class to escape the horrible stench in our room. When we arrived at the room, I was standing with one of my best friends, waiting for the other to come out of the bathroom. A girl came up to us and said, 'Hey Kendyl, do want to sit with me and Samantha?' Okay, pause for a minute. HELLO? I was right there! But Kendyl said, 'Can Kiera sit with us?' Girl: 'UhhhhhhÖ' Kendyl: 'No thanks. I don't want to leave Kiera out. ' Wasn't that sweet?"
--Kiera, 9
"My best friend Jodie was like, the only thing good about my life. I was an orphan and one day she showed up at the orphan's home where I lived and as soon as she saw me, she said 'You're the one.' Next thing I knew, the adoption papers were signed and I was living with her uncle and aunt. But it doesn't stop there. We sorta consider ourselves cousins and best friends. She goes to my school. And for my birthday two months ago, she got me the most beautiful necklace and a new journal with my name in gold print and everything. And it wasn't a wimpy journal. I am a writer. This thing was big. And the best present -- my new boyfriend, Dave. Turns out he liked me as much as I liked him, and she got us together. I'd die without her."
--Kiana
"I have a friend named Griselda. My other friend, Emily made fun of Griselda's culture (which is Mexican). I got in the middle of it. When I asked Emily if she made fun of Griselda, she said no. Today, she made fun of how Iran was pronounced. She said Iran (e-ron) and Ian. I didn't like that. She said a bad word about it. I'm not her friend anymore. So I'm saying that Griselda got me out of being friends with someone who says bad words and is prejudiced. Thank you Griselda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
--Lili, 10
"OK, he's a friend, I guess. A youth leader that went on a trip to Panama City so totally loved me. He found out that I liked this kid in our youth group that's really mean. We were on the bus coming home (I sat with him after this for 11 hours) and he pulled me over where no one could hear him and told me that I was 'too nice and sweet' for that kid. He said that I needed someone better. Now, I realize that he was right. That kid is a JERK!! Thanks soooo much, Fred. You rock bus buddy!"

I was fighting with her older sis and she said 'I hate you because you were mean to my sis.' Well I was really sad and my cousin said 'Give me her screen name I have some word to say to her about being a brat.' Turns out it wasn't her it was her sis. Still though, my cousin helped me out."

"Hey. It's Jacqueline again, and now I have a very sentimental answer. All right, if you read these questions, you know I've skipped two grades. Frankly, I think the best thing Jenn and Consuelo have done, is just befriend a lonely little girl, who, at the time was just 8, to their mighty ten year oldness. 4 years later, it's not pity anymore, but they still just were my friends, and that's the best thing!"

Before I went, I had tripped in the supermarket parking lot and sprained my ankle, so I was basically limping all day. That night we went to a movie, and the theater was pretty big so it required a lot of walking, which naturally I couldn't do very well. My friend let me lean on her and helped me walk the whole time. It was very nice of her, because I had to go really slow!"

"Well, I was having A Very Miserable Day once. It started when I went to my locker, and in the hole where the lock was supposed to go, there was an ink cartridge, and I got ink all over my shirt, hands and notebook, and my witch of a teacher wouldn't let me wash it off! Later, this same teacher made me put a problem on the board from the homework, even though I'd taken a homework pass. In my next class, I was planning to take a homework pass, too (we had a science test that day and I needed time to study), but I couldn't find one. Luckily, one of my best friends EVER, Consuelo, gave me one of hers. Thank you, Consuelo!!! P. S: My other best friend, Jenn, helped me that day, too, by putting up with my whining! You guys are the best!"
