I'm closer to my in-laws. It's a strange feeling, but I can't figure what went wrong. I did get closer to my sister who is 8 years older, but when I got married and years went by, it seemed that the more I had my own opinions and didn't always agree with her, we got further apart. I feel the difference between us is my oldest sister was very smart, the next was smart but quit school and did her own thing, but seemed later to be the weakest of us all. "I'm Abbey and I am the youngest out of four direct siblings, and if you count all the steps, ten. Most people believe that since you're the youngest you aren't as smart as everyone else. (I'm just going to count my direct siblings since I grew up with them and spend the most time with them). I do not believe that is true. Also, I hope I have stopped the ridiculous idea that the youngest borns don't have as much intelligence (and I read somewhere else that the farther down the line of birth, the less person makes in cash and I do not believe this will be in my case as I hope to be educated, and use something of it! ) I could go on pages about myself and my mind, and how I view the world...And the Lord. Im the oldest of six (yes six) girls. I sometimes feel like a second mom, because a lot of times Im the babysitter, or the girls will come to me with a problem instead of my mom or dad. Or they'll tattle to me, which now I understand why my parents hate it. I tend to be a little shy, I really dislike criticism, I have a temper, and I always try to do my best. I don't have a lot of close friends, my little middle sister has a ton. I hate it when I make mistakes. I don't like having to do everything ( or feeling like I do). I don't really like all the responsibilities I have. But I think my parents trust me, and other adults trust me because I am responsible and mature. Well, that's my story on being the oldest!

I am the oldest of 5 and I think that being the oldest has it's advantages and disadvantages For instance, the oldest is expected to act better than the others and not mess up as much. But I also get the front seat of the car without question. I get to watch my younger sibs ages 10, 4, and 2 a lot and I think it's fun. It would stink to be the younger ones I think I am trying to imagine what it feels like and to me, it would feel like captivity. But I have no clue. I think the older child is more independent than the younger because they were first born and all they had was their parents to watch them.

I am an older sister, that to a sibling who has both neurological and emotional problems. In many ways, I am The only child" for I have had all the responsibilities that come along with being it and also the feelings that I have had to please please please my parents and be the Perfect Child...It most likely has been in my head but it still existed for many years. I still remain the older sister and handle now both a mother who is up in years and my sister who lives in a Group Home in the area. My sister always buys the same clothes as I do, since she thinks Im cool, I take that as a compliment, and what I like about being the eldest, is bossing her around, and picking fast food or not more than my sister does. I also get more cool privileges, like ride my bike alone, shop at the mall with my mom in the same store, but not noticing me, and so many other things my mom doesnt allow Tara to do!!

My sister is driving me crazy because I hang out with 7 guys so shes always ooohing when I mention them. She also has ADD so my parents give her loads of attention and Im almost ignored.

I have one little brother, Christopher. He is 10 years old. I love him to death, but sometimes we argue. Most of the time we get along fine though!! Actually my mom makes sure we get along. But over all, we act like the best of friends!! My friends think it's weird, they don't get along as good as we do!! And they have a three-year difference as well!!!
