Episode 4062 Journey to Ernie: One of These Things
To find Ernie, Big Bird plays “One of these things is not like the others.” Tip: Play the game with your child. Arrange several similar objects along with one that is different, such as three balls and one shoe. Then ask, “Which of these things is not like the others?” Letter and Number: F, 6

Episode 4131 Global Grover: Germany
Grover returns from Germany where he learned how to make a special thatched roof from reeds. Tip: Walk through your neighborhood with your child and talk about the different roofs you see. Can you figure out what they are made of and how they were made? Letter and Number: D, 11

Episode 4094 Spanish Moment of the Day: Siesta
“Siesta” means “nap” in Spanish. Tip: Together, say “It’s siesta time!” when your child is ready for his next nap. Explain that taking a siesta gives him energy to play and learn! Letter and Number: S, 19

To prepare for the Square Game, Zoe and Elmo learn exactly what a square looks like. Tip: Help your child cut out shapes from construction paper, glue onto 3X5 cards and label them. Then choose one shape card each and compare. Ask, “How are they similar/different?” Letter and Number: I, 7

The letter of the day is “P”! Tip: Celebrate “P” with healthy mini-pizzas! Toast whole wheat English muffins. Encourage your child to help top with tomato sauce, thinly sliced mushrooms, and grated low-fat cheese. Melt cheese under a broiler, then enjoy! Letter and Number: P, 15

At the “Healthy Food Pageant” everyone is singing about different healthy foods and how they’re good for you—Telly is singing about asparagus! Tip: Ask, “What food would you sing about?” Then together, make up a song praising its health benefits. Letter and Number: A, 13

Telly and Elmo help Baby Bear build an Automatic Lemonade Pouring Machine for Miles. Tip: Make lemonade with your child. Show her how to squeeze juice from lemons into a pitcher. Stir in a little sugar, add water, ice and enjoy! Letter and Number: U, 12

Everyone has been busy preparing for the arrival of Gina and her newly adopted baby, Marco. Tip: Ask, “How do you think Gina felt when everyone wanted to help her with the baby? How would you help Gina?” Together, do something helpful for a friend. Letter and Number: D, 11

Grover learns that hula is a Hawaiian dance where performers use hand and body gestures to express their stories, culture, and more! Tip: Make up a hula-like dance with your child using body movements to tell a story. Letter and Number: R, 18

Episode 4130 Elmo’s World: Fast and Slow
Elmo discovers there are animals that can move really fast or really slow. Tip: Have your child move very slow like a snail then really fast like a hummingbird. Ask him how it feels to move his body at different speeds. Letter and Number: G, 1

Elmo is invited to Zoe’s birthday party for Rocco, but he can’t think of what gift to get a rock! Tip: Help your child make a special birthday present for a friend or relative, such as a painting or a batch of cookies. Letter and Number: X, 17
