Episode 101
“Hide and Go Seek”
While playing a game of hide-and-go-seek Karla finds herself "too easy to find" (those darn stripes!).
Mama exposes the kids to the wonderful world of animal camouflage.

“Sounds of the Savanna”
Karla, Max, Chip, Flip and Kip decide to form a music group. Bo, a little hesitant
about joining the group, thinks he is incapable of making music. However, after
watching some of Mama’s home movies, the kids learn a few natural rhythms and
soon the Savanna Six is jamming to the sound of their own tunes.

Episode 102
“Elephant Walk”
When Max is upset about all the things he can't do yet, Mama shows him how
all animals gain independence at different paces, and that there's really
no hurry.

“Baby of a Different Stripe”
Karla's mother is having a new foal — a development Karla isn’t too sure about.
However, a couple of Mama’s movies show Karla the fun and excitement of a new
sibling, as well as how she can help.

Episode 103
“A Little Help from My Friends”
Karla discovers a perfect gift for Mama. All of the kids realize that in
order to get the gift, they're going to have to work together.

“Tell Me About It”
Max discovers his "danger call" (trumpeting with his trunk), and is so excited
that he "cries wolf" a few too many times. Mama (with the help of her movies)
shows Max and the others how animals communicate messages both important and
innocuous.

Episode 104
“To Sleep with Wombats”
When a visiting friend of Karla's (Keisha the wombat) turns out to be a night
owl, Karla, Bo and Max are exhausted trying to keep up. They're convinced
Keisha doesn't sleep! Mama shows them that all animals need sleep to survive
and when she finds out that Keisha is a nocturnal wombat, she shows them how
some animals sleep during the day.

“All Creatures Great and Small”
After Max gets stuck between two trees during a game of Follow-The-Leader, he
is mildly teased about being "big and round" by Bo. Max's feelings get hurt.
Mama decides it's time to show some movies about how — and why — animals come
in all different shapes and sizes.

Episode 105
“Anybody Home?”
While playing out on the savanna, Max, Bo and Karla discover two young bird
brothers (Dib and Dab) who appear to be lost and not so good at communicating.
So with the help of Mama's movies, the children learn the value of a home and
the love that surrounds it. In the end, the movies eventually reveal the home
of Dib and Dab.

“Healthy Habits”
When Max gets a cold and a trip to a special place has to be put off, Mama
prescribes rest and plenty of fluids. Max is upset, but Mama shows him that
everybody — yes, even animals — gets sick and has to do what is necessary
to recover. Sometimes they even take their own kind of "medicine."

Episode 106
“Play’s the Thing”
Bo, Karla and Max can't decide on what game to play — they each have a favorite
of their own. Mama’s home movies show them that every animal likes to play
differently whether it is swinging, running or gnawing. As a result, the children
understand that each of their favorite games actually helps them practice skills
they will use later in life.

“Sam Spades of the Savanna”
Bo, it seems, has lost his favorite feather…or more accurately, someone seems to
have taken it! Mama and the kids go on a mission to solve the mystery of the
missing feather.

Episode 107
“Gourmet Grazing”
Today, it seems Karla is more interested in continuing to play than stopping
for lunch. For her, eating is boring and playing is fun. Mama (through a movie or two)
demonstrates to Karla that eating well can be exciting too, as well as showing her the
incredibly wide variety of things that animals eat.

“Kings and Queens of the Savanna”
Bo, Karla and Max are having a discussion about who the true "King" or "Queen" of
the savanna might be. When Mama overhears, she decides to take the kids on a kind
of "nature walk" where she demonstrates (with the help of her home movies) that
when it comes to important jobs, nearly every animal on the savanna, big or small,
is a King or a Queen.

Episode 108
“I Spy”
Max, when playing "I Spy" with Bo and Karla, feels like he can't keep up. Mama shows him
that not only is it okay to move more slowly (especially if you're an elephant), but there's
a whole world of things to see when you're not zipping around like a zebra (or a cheetah).

“Eyes, Ears, Noses and Trunks”
Playing "Kick the Coconut" Bo, Max and Karla meet a friendly Fruit Bat named Merlin. He's
really good at the game, which, until then, had been Bo's best game. Mama shows the gang
a movie about "echolocation," as a way of introducing the other senses. As a result,
the kids learn which of their own senses are particularly strong.

Episode 109
“The Boy Can Blow”
Max really wants to trumpet like Mama. The problem is he just can’t get it right.
He gets a little sad until he meets a young bird named Benny with a similar,
although flight-related, problem. Mama shows Max and the others that we all
grow and develop at different times and it is important to be happy with yourself
in the present.

“I Don’t like Spiders and Snakes”
While playing "Superheroes of the Savanna" with Karla and Max, "brave" Bo accidentally
exhibits his hidden fear of "creepy crawlies." Mama shows them that even creepy-looking
animals can be "Savanna Superheroes."

Episode 110
“What’s in a Tail?”
Everybody seems enamored with their tails today, except for Max, who doesn't
think his tail is so special. Mama shows the kids (through her movies) that
there are a lot of different "tails to tell" in the animal kingdom. Every tail,
however, is unique and special — just like the animal it’s attached to.

“Footprints in the Sand”
Playing in the bush, Max, Bo and Karla stumble upon a giant footprint, and go running back to Mama.
Mama is curious, and together they discover (by looking at movies of various animals and their “tracks”)
that the print they saw wasn't left by any animal walking in the savanna today but, instead, was left by
an impressive remnant of the distant past.

Episode 111
“Here Today, Gone Tomorrow”
Karla makes a new friend, Winnie (a Wildebeest), and is stricken to discover that
Winnie and her mother are "migratory," and must soon be on their way. Mama shares
through her movies why animals migrate, and assures Karla that Winnie will be back
this way before she knows it.

“Nobody’s Perfect”
Bo, who has been boasting about his leaping ability, has an accident that's very embarrassing.
Mama (through some very funny movies) shows Bo that all animals make mistakes — it's one of
the ways we learn.

Episode 112
“Things That Go Yip, Howl and Screech in the Night”
Max is having a sleepover with his friends Benny (the bird), Bo and Karla.
Everyone's excited, until they start hearing some very unfamiliar sounds.
Benny is scared, until Mama, with the help of some fun movies, helps Benny
understand and get over the fear of the sounds that are making him scared.

“You Must Have Been a Beautiful Baby”
Kip, Flip and Chip (the monkey brothers) have a new cousin (Pip).
No one, especially Bo, can believe that the monkey brothers were
ever that small. Mama has some movies proving otherwise and making
for one cute film festival.

Episode 113
"A Savanna Kwaanza"
Everyone on the savanna is coming to Mama's big Kwanzaa celebration,
which leads to a discussion (and some movies) about the seemingly endless
variety (and names) of animal families. In the end, Karla comes up with a
name for their little inter-species family — a "furry" of friends.

"Cracking the Code"
When Max, Bo and Karla find an egg, they enlist Mama's help in finding out what kind of animal is inside.
