Show 12: That Sculpture Isn't Yours, It's Mime

Grandma and Scruff destroyed Ruff and Blossom in a game of charades. Ruff challenged them to a rematch, but for future charade success, he needed help miming and acting like a bird.

He sent Emmie and Marc off to learn how to mime. They reached out and touched imaginary objects, creating the illusion of contact. They mimed holding objects and mimed getting onto buses. Then Emmie and Marc wrote scripts to perform in front of an audience!

Ruff sent Rubye and Jay to make a kinetic (moving) bird sculpture. Jay and Rubye researched bird movements at the pet shop. After sketching some ideas and creating a prototype, they built the moving bird sculpture and gave it a serious (moving!) beak.

Marco and Shreya stayed back at Studio G and earned 40 points in the Halftime Quiz Show.

Rubye and Jay completed the bird sculpture and flew like the wind back to Studio G, where Emmie and Marc mimed for the other FETCHers in full costume, ending with celebratory mimed pickles just before the Triumph Tally:

Marc and Emmie scored:

  • 36 points
  • An additional 55 points for their silent spectacular in front of a live audience
  • That's a total of 91 points!

Jay and Rubye scored:

  • 90 points for making a fabulous sculpture and incorporating not one but two moving parts!

BUT: "Is that all the points a dog can give?"

Jay won today's 5 bonus points for coming up with the ingenious cam design that allowed the bird sculpture to move. With a total of 95 points, he was the winner of two tickets to the Blue Man Group.

And thanks to the FETCHers, Ruff and Blossom beat Grandma and Scruff in the charades rematch!
