Show 11: 'Eureka' is Not a Brand of Dog Food

Ruff's "person" had re-discovered the joys of playing fetch with her dog—and Ruff was not enjoying it.

So, Ruff sent Emmie and Shreya out to build him a flying carpet—something he could use to fly over land and sea to fetch stuff. Emmie and Shreya built a hovercraft! Steering the hovercraft with compressed air, a good push, and the hose, Emmie and Shreya tried it out by competing against dogs in a tennis ball retrieving contest. They won third place!

Jay and Marco were challenged to come up with something to make Ruff's life easier—something more convenient than edible cheese socks. Jay wanted to give Ruff a variety of food so he didn't have to eat the same food every day, and he built a food dispenser. Marco designed a backscratcher for Ruff. The inventions were awesome!

Marc and Rubye stayed back in Studio, where they earned 50 points—a perfect score!—during the Halftime Quiz Show!

All of the FETCHers met back at Studio G for the Triumph Tally:

Emmie and Shreya scored:

  • 80 points: for engineering an awesome hovercraft using a leaf blower and duct tape, and for having fun while they did it

Shreya also scored:

  • 5 points for knowing one of Newton's laws! That's a total of 85 points for Shreya!

Jay and Marco scored:

  • 85 points: for the insta-kibble dispenser and canine backscratcher—both great inventions!

BUT: "Is that all the points a dog can give?"

Today's bonus points went to Marco for considering building a treadmill for Ruff and Chet! That made Marco the day's winner with 90 points! He got a tiny remote-controlled hovercraft (for mice!)!
