Ruff's German fashion designer cousin Helga shipped Ruff her gold jewelry for safe-keeping, but it got covered in tar! To replace it, Ruff needed to find the gold that his great, great, great, great uncle Gus Ruffman hid in Colorado.
Marco, Rubye, and Shreya stayed behind in the Studio while Jay, Marc, and Emmie set out to Colorado dressed in their western best to find Uncle Gus's gold.
Jay, Marc, and Emmie read Gus's diary for clues and determined that they needed to find the combination to the safe at the bank. Using lots of math, a compass, some rope, and a rock, they retrieved the lock's combination. They ran to the bank, opened the safe, and found a treasure map.
Meanwhile, Helga calledshe was in America and on her way to Ruff's doghouse! Safe in Studio G, Marco, Rubye, and Shreya scored 50 points (a perfect score!) during the Halftime Quiz Show.
By horse and by foot, Emmie, Marc, and Jay climbed the trail to the mine entrance where they got cold and wet in search of the waterfall. They found a tiny waterfall and also found loose rocks and a bag! But instead of gold, they found… powder?! Borate minerals that can be used to mix up laundry detergent! THAT was Gus's hidden treasure!
They headed back to Studio G for the Triumph Tally:
Emmie, Marc, and Jay scored:
BUT: "Is that all the points a dog can mine out of his computer?"
The 10 bonus points went to Emmie for figuring out that the FETCHers needed to retrace Gus's steps, which wound up leading straight to the treasure map! She won a gold prospecting kit! Ruff used Gus's laundry powder to get all the tar out of Helga's jewelry. It worked like a charm, like a gold charm!
