Collect data on how much paper you use. Then, help bring down this week's average by submitting your results.
Paper is made mostly out of trees. Trees absorb CO2 (a greenhouse gas) and provide us oxygen to breathe. Trees are also homes to lots of animals, improve water quality, and prevent erosion.
The paper-making process destroys forests and ecosystems, uses a lot of water and adds chemicals to our air and water. Throwing out used paper fills up landfills, and leaks chemicals into soil and water.
A fresh, clean piece of paper is nice to write on, but do you really need to use a new piece every time you write something down?
