The Team What's the Big Idea? The first step in creating a short is to come up with a great story idea. Often, this is done in a brainstorming meeting, where team members gather to toss out ideas and discuss them.

As the story ideas begin to take shape, the team members answer the following questions:

Who is in the story?
Where does it take place?
What are the characters doing?

Meet the Team

A short is often created by a project team that includes designers, animators, a creative director, writers, musicians, and producers.

Although each person has a special job to do, it's important that they work together during the whole project, not only to make sure that their work fits together at the end, but because each person often gets creative ideas from other members of the team.
