Dress Up Stories
Episode # 159. Closet
In very large rectangle-shaped box, the children give the Storypeople a cabinet. Grandpappa finds a hat inside the top drawer. He finds a sweater in the second drawer, a pair of pants in the third, and some bright striped sock in the bottom drawer. Behind the door he finds robe, coat, and jacket. He puts on everything he finds, but that makes him very hot. He takes everything off, throwing them all over the ground. So the children give him a laundry basket. Grandpappa uses the basket to collect the items and the children help him put them magically back where they came from.

Directions
Place many different kinds of clothing in a big box. Ask your child to close his eyes and pull one item out of the box. Let him put on the item and take the lead in making up a story about the person wearing that item of clothing. When that story is done, start the game over by pulling another item from the box. End the game by inventing a story about someone who wears all the items of clothing that your child has pulled from the box - the sillier the better!
Talk About It
While viewing the Closet episode, you might start a conversation by asking your child: "Can you remember where Grandpappa got each piece of clothing?"
As you talk about the things on screen, you can help expand your child's vocabulary by alternating the words you use with their synonyms. In the Closet episode you might describe what Grandpappa puts on as clothes or garments.
