Looking for Signs
Episode # 137. Following the Signs
In a big square box, the children give the Storypeople a signpost. Mr. Man sees the sign and starts walking in the direction it points. But the wind blows and the sign points the opposite way. The same thing happens when Grandpappa joins him. When two more sign posts show up, things get really silly, sending the pair around in circles until they get so dizzy they fall down laughing.

Directions
Take a walk around your neighborhood and see who can spot the most signs. If you have a camera, you might allow your child to take a picture of each sign he spots. Ask what he knows about each sign. What shape is it? What color is it? What does it mean? At home, make a book of your pictures. Have your child narrate as you flip the pages, telling the story of your walk around the neighborhood and what each sign means.
Talk About It
While viewing the Following the Signs episode, you might start a conversation by asking your child: "Where do you think the sign is pointing to? Where will they end up if they follow the sign?"
As you talk about the things on screen, you can help expand your child's vocabulary by alternating the words you use with their synonyms. In the Following the Signs episode you might ask which way the sign points or which direction.
