Bendables
Episode # 131. Suit of Armor
In a very large rectangular-shaped box, the children give the Storypeople a suit of armor. With some help from the children, Grandpappa puts on the armor, but it doesn't bend very easily. That makes it hard to walk, so they give him a horse and help him on. He happily rides off into the distance.

Directions
Point out to your child that what makes it possible for arms and legs to bend is that they have joints (called knees and elbows). Help them learn what joints do by making a game of trying to do things without bending your joints. Try walking, sitting down, getting dressed, brushing your teeth, or anything else that comes up during your daily routine. Be silly and have fun, but also help your child observe what kinds of things are simply difficult and which ones are impossible. You also might help them notice other things around your home and neighborhood that use joints to help them bend (e.g., a doll, a backhoe, some types of folding chairs, etc.).
Talk About It
While viewing the Suit of Armor episode, you might start a conversation by asking your child: "What do you think might be inside the armor? Have you seen anything else that has a hard shell for protection?"
As you talk about the things on screen, you can help expand your child's vocabulary by alternating the words you use with their synonyms. In the Suit of Armor episode you might describe the armor as stiff or rigid.
