Making Hats
Episode # 128. Two Hats
In a small cylinder-shaped box, the children give the Storypeople a tall pink hat. When Grandpappa puts on the hat, it is too tall for him to fit through the door. So he gives the hat to Grandmamma, who is shorter, and she fits through the door just fine. The children give Grandpappa a shorter hat so he can fit through the door, too.

Directions
Together with your child, make your own hats. One easy way is to create a crown. Wrap a piece of paper around your child's head and tape the ends together so it fits snugly. Cut off the excess end if needed. Then cut and decorate. Or you might simply customize an existing hat. For example, take a baseball cap and add your own logo or borders.
When you are done, wear your hats and let your child imagine what kind of special occasion or event you are at or what kind of special person or character you are.
Talk About It
While viewing the Two Hats episode, you might start a conversation by asking your child: "What's going to happen when Grandpappa tries to go through the door? What is going to happen when Grandmamma tries to go through the door?"
As you talk about the things on screen, you can help expand your child's vocabulary by alternating the words you use with their synonyms. In the Two Hats episode you might describe the pink hat a hat, top hat or a stovepipe hat.
