Directions
Create your own "treasure chest" by filling a box with clothing and props that your child can use to play "dress up." Let your child decide who he will be and let him take the lead in crafting a story or game involving that character. Help him expand the story by asking open-ended questions, such as "Who else is in the room?" or "What will we do after _______?" or "Who am I?"
Talk About It
While viewing the Treasure Chest episode, you might start a conversation by asking your child: "How would you get the treasure chest open?" or "What do you hope is inside the chest?" or "What do you think it would be like to be a queen?"
As you talk about the things on screen, you can help expand your child's vocabulary by alternating the words you use with their synonyms. In the Treasure Chest episode you might describe Auntie opening or unlocking the chest.
