Directions
With your child, go on a hunt, either in your neighborhood or using books at the library, to find examples of how people lift heavy things. Can you find forklifts, cranes, conveyor belts, strong people, jacks, gas station lifts, pulleys, levers, etc.? Back home, let your child pretend to lift their own heavy things. What kinds of methods do they remember? What methods do they use? Ask your child to describe to you what they are doing.
Talk About It
While viewing the Building Blocks episode, you might start a conversation by asking your child: "Have you tried to stack blocks like that? Tell me what happened."
As you talk about the things on screen, you can help expand your child's vocabulary by alternating the words you use with their synonyms. In the Building Blocks episode you might say that Grandmamma is trying to build a tower or construct a tower.
