Hide & Seek
Episode # 122. Cakes and Strings
In a short cylinder, the children give the Storypeople a pair of cakes. Auntie finds the cakes and wants to share them with Mr. Man, but how can the two find each other when they keep moving around? As she moves around and between the trees, she unravels a ball of string behind her for Mr. Man to follow. When he reaches the end of the string, they share the cakes. Yum! Then the Boohbahs do a dance where they move around and between one another.

Directions
Play hide and seek with your child by hiding an object and letting him search for it. Help him learn to use clues (e.g., looking only in places that are big enough to hold the item or using a visible object like a sock to help indicate what part of the room or home to look in). When your child finds the object, switch places with him, letting him hide and you seek.

Talk About It
While viewing the Cakes and String episode, you might start a conversation by asking your child: "What flavor cake do you like?" or "What would happen if Auntie stood still?" or "How could she share with Mr. Man if she only had one cake?" As you talk about the things on screen, you can help expand your child's vocabulary by alternating the words you use with their synonyms. In the Cakes and String episode you might say that Auntie is rolling out or unraveling the string.
