Directions
Play together with your child using blocks. Let him choose what to build. As you play together, suggest that he try to build a set of steps like the ones that Grandpappa made in the program. Ask, "Where do your steps lead?" Experiment with other ways to build structures that someone might safely climb on. What kinds of forms and shapes are the most stable?
Talk About It
While viewing the Hammock episode, you might start a conversation by asking your child: How would you help Grandpappa get in the hammock? Where do you like to nap? Do you think you would like it in a hammock?
As you talk about the things on screen, you can help expand your child's vocabulary by alternating the words you use with their synonyms. In the Hammock episode, Grandpappa jumps or leaps to try to get into the hammock and the Boohbahs jump or leap in their dance.
