About Me:
I love camping! There is this great thing- Great American Backyard Campout. On June 23, camp outside. If you are going to do it, send me “coolio”. If you are going to campout, I will add you as a favorite. If you add a ton of discoveries from your campout I will vote for you 3 times a day for a whole week. It is going to be awesome!
Chirping Crickets
You can actually tell the temperature by listening to crickets. Count the number of chirps one cricket makes in 14 seconds. Add 40 to the number and you’ll have a decent estimate of the temperature. For example, if you count 35 chirps in 14 seconds, it means the temperature is around 75°F (35 + 40 = 75).
Snoozy Seagulls
Have you ever noticed that seagulls often gather on the ground before a storm? Scientists think the birds sense the dropping pressure in the atmosphere that occurs before a storm and choose to lay low.
