Pantomime
Mime some favorite activities
Materials
Directions
Using pantomime, children can "talk" without speaking.
- Brainstorm: Help your children think of activities (e.g., blowing up a balloon, waking up, swimming) or emotions (e.g., angry, surprised, happy). Write these activities and emotions on slips of paper. (You can include quick sketches for nonreaders.) Place the slips in a container.
- Pantomime: Have children take turns picking a slip of paper and pantomiming the activity or emotion written on it.
With a Group
Each player pantomimes an activity or emotion while the rest of the group tries to guess what it is. Make sure everyone has a chance to guess and to pantomime.
