Team up and triumph

Materials
  • balls (small and large)
  • blanket or sheet
  • cardboard tubes
  • tape
Directions
Show your children that some of the best games are those in which everyone works together.
  1. Balance and Bounce: Together, hold the corners of a blanket or sheet. Put a ball in the middle, and work together to make it bounce gently up and down without falling off.
  1. Rolling Ball Chute: Work together with your children to build a chute for a small ball by taping cardboard tubes together.
Talk About It
Discuss teamwork with your children. Explore specific ways you worked together to keep the ball bouncing and to build the chute.

With a Group
Split the group into sets of pairs. Have children hold a wooden dowel in each hand. They must work together to pick up a soft ball with their sticks, carry it a couple of yards, and deposit it in a box. Count how many times each pair can put a ball in the box during a specified period.
