Backwards writing is hard to read at first. But if you practice at it, you'll get better. Just like with Virtual Goose! It's tough at first, but stick with it, and you'll be great.

PRUNELLA'S PROBLEMS: Friends to the End
By Prunella

Prunella's Byline Picture Can you match each clue below to the name of one of my friends below?

1. If you change the "B" in this friend's name to "ST," his name means "smelly."

2. If you take away the "B" from this friend's name, his name becomes something wet that falls from the sky.

3. If you change the double letter in this friend's name to "GG," her name means "hot and humid."

4. If you take away the "IN" from the middle of this friend's name, you're left with the name of a country.

5. If you change the "S" in this friend's name to a "T," his name becomes something that tastes good on toast and popcorn.

6. If you take away the last three letters of this friend's name, you're left with something you can make with paints or colored pens.

a) Arthur
b) Binky
c) Brain
d) Buster
e) Francine
f) Muffy

(see answers below)

FERN'S POETRY NOOK: My Favorite Season
By Fern

Fern's Byline Picture Spring, O Spring!
A wonderful thing
Begging my heart
To sing, sing, sing

The sun is shining
The blooms are blooming
Which must be why
The bees are zooming

The leaves are growing On all of the trees
And warm spring aromas
Drift by on the breeze

So if I were the queen
(Or even the king) I'd wish that every day were
Spring, spring, spring!

I love solving mysteries, too. Have you played my game, Effective Detective, lately? It's lots of fun.

FEATURED ARTICLE: My Spring Vacation Plans
By Buster Baxter

Buster Baxter's Byline Picture Monday: Ride my bike with Arthur. We want to explore World's End Park. I'll make sure to pack a couple of lunches. (And I better remind Arthur to bring HIS lunch, too!)

Tuesday: I heard it might rain, so I'm going to spend all day at the Loring Cinema. They have a quadruple feature of alien movies! That's FOUR movies, each one with five aliens probably. And each alien has between three and 17 arms. So that makes... let's see... oh, why spoil it. It's just a LOT of alien arms doing alien things. I can't wait!

Wednesday: The gang is getting together to play soccer. But if the field is too muddy, we'll play "slogger." That's when you run as fast as you can, then see how far you can slide in the mud. Wheeeeeeeee!

Thursday: Brain and I are going to the Science Museum. They have a special exhibit on dinosaurs. Brain will teach me lots of dinosaur facts. And I'll teach him how to make dinosaur sounds that sound really scary in the echoey museum.

Friday: I'm going to the Sugar Bowl to eat one scoop of each flavor they have. I think that's about 30! I'll start with the chocolate flavors, then the vanilla flavors, and then... but wait, what about mint? I love mint! I don't want to hurt mint's feelings by eating it third. Hmm... I know, I'll eat them alphabetically. That's the fairest way to do it. (I just hate to hear ice cream complain!)

Planning ahead is always good... especially if you're delivering ice cream! Check out Go! George Go! to test your ice cream-delivering skills.
