THIS MONTH'S THEME: Ghoul Days

BUT FIRST: Hurricane Katrina Update
By Bo Baxter (Buster's dad)

Bo Baxter (Buster's dad)'s Byline Picture We wanted to update you about the families we visited in New Orleans for our show POSTCARDS FROM BUSTER. The good news is, they're all safe!

Colin, the drummer, safely evacuated, and although his home is still flooded, he and his family are safe.

Brittney, the choir director, evacuated with her family to Atlanta. She and her siblings are all well.

And Nia and her dad Shaka, the stilt dancers, are also safe in Atlanta.

Our thoughts are with them during this difficult time.

NEWS FLASH: New Games!
By "BOOster" Baxter

BOOster Baxter's Byline Picture Guess what? I have two new games on my Web site!

In "Dream On," I have REALLY weird dreams that I have to hop through the sky from cloud to cloud and collect a bunch of food before I wake up. Plus there are these giant clocks chasing me, and a talking sandwich! Find out what's going on.

In "Build-A-Flag," you get to create your own country! Well...your own flag, at least! Choose colors, letters, and objects and put them together to create your own unique design. When you're done, you can print your flag, or send email messages to your friends inviting them to check it out online! Get started.

TOP GORY: Haunted Elwood
By Arthur "Read at Your Own Risk"

Arthur Read at Your Own Risk's Byline Picture Welcome to the scariest time of the year! No, we're not cleaning out Buster's locker at school. It's Halloween! Did you know that Elwood City has some haunted areas? It's true! And around Halloween, they're usually at their VERY scariest...

The Old Tucker Estate: Legend has it that Lady Tucker strolls the grounds when the moon is full, forever in search of a sock she lost back in 1872.

The Ghost Dog of Mill Creek: They say that a stick thrown into the creek from just the right spot will fetch itself. (Whenever I tell this story, Pal howls, then runs and hides. Sorry, Pal!)

Button Island: Greenbeard the Pirate loved buttons! And hundreds of years ago, Greenbeard buried all his button treasure here. Nowadays, on starless nights, the flicker of an old-fashioned lantern can sometimes be seen, as if held by someone roaming the island.

The Old Cemetery: On windy nights, an eerie moaning comes from the graveyard. Brain says the sound is just caused by the wind blowing through a statue... but I'm not going to stick around to find out!

Magnetic Hill: Point your bike down the hill, lift your feet, and you will slowly roll backwards, UP the hill! I've done it, and it's really weird!

Check out more creepy Halloween stuff! (And keep your eyes peeled...there will be a super-spooky Sugar Bowl Poll question starting October 21!)
