U.S.A. - The United States of America
The electric guitar was created in the early 1900s. Like an acoustic guitar, it has six strings. An electric guitar is not loud on its own. It must be plugged into an electric amplifier. It became popular in the United States in the 1920s and '30s when guitarists wanted a louder instrument to match the volume of the "big bands" in which they were playing. Today, electric guitars are used worldwide.
