"Zil" is the Turkish word for "cymbal." In the 1600s, a Turkish man discovered a new technique for creating the metal for cymbals. Since then, Turkish cymbals have been exported to the entire world.

Jereed is played on horseback. Riders carry long sticks, and try to hit riders from the opposing team. In addition to this traditional sport, soccer is wildly popular in Turkey.
