Ayub is a day student, so when he goes home after school he has to help on the farm. Here, he's taking the cow out to graze for its supper. The grass the cow eats also helps to keep the lawn cut.

Tavan Mwadime sits in his lettuce field. This kind of lettuce is used to make a special salad called kachumbari that is served with a roasted meat dish called nyama choma.

Arrowroot can be used in all kinds of things like sauces or cookies. It's used as a flavoring and thickener.

Since the school is in the country, there are a lot of farms in the area. Most of Kenya's business comes from farming. Day-students have to help on their family farm when they get home. And some of the boarding students even have gardening chores to do in the school's kitchen garden.
